Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

To access the application platform further than this page, you need to enable Two-Factor Authentification (2FA). 2FA enhances the security of this platform. Without enabling 2FA you can only access your Profile area. Please contact hello@opentech.fund if you have technical difficulty enabling 2FA.

You can create or change your 2FA account by clicking on your name in the upper right hand corner. This will lead you to your personal profile. You will see the option to update your account security on your personal profile.

Two-Factor Authentification, or 2FA, is an extra layer of security used to make sure that people trying to gain access to an online account are who they say they are.

Download an Authentication App

We recommend using Authy or another authenticator app. Twillio Authy <https://authy.com/download/>.

Also consider using 1Password or another password manager for built in support for 2FA. If you are a macOS user, consider the built in Keychain has support for 2FA.

2FA works by pairing a phone or another device to your account on the platform. Once paired, the device can generate one-time use short codes which you could use to log into your account.

Backup Codes

You will see this page once you've completed your 2FA setup. Click on Show Codes for your backup codes. Backup codes will be generated.

We strongly recommend saving your backup codes somewhere safe. If you are no longer able to access your authenticator app, you can use a backup code along with your username and password to log on the platform.

You could access your Two-factor authentication settings from your profile page anytime.

Disable Two-Factor Authentification

In Account security, you will be able to enable and disable 2FA as well as generate backup tokens. Please contact hello@opentech.fund if you have questions about your account security.

2FA Login

You will be asked to enter your verification code generated by your Authenticator app when you log back on. If you are unable to receive this verification code, you could use one of the backup codes.
